I hope you’re enjoying the resources I’ve gathered from
Steve Spangler’s website, including: Here’s a few ideas if you want to learn more about sound. |
Singing Glasses – What if you: change the glass? change the amount of water? try it with no water? hold the glass by the sides, not the stem? Here are two videos to view: Sci Guys and LAB 360,Â
Screaming Cup – What if you: use longer string? use shorter string? use thicker string? use thinner string (careful with this as it can cut skin)? use a cup that is larger or smaller? pull with more force or less force on the string? pull on the string after you have tied a few simple knots in the string?
Here are two videos to view: Phil Hampton and ScienceBob.Â
Water Whistle – What if you: change the amount of water? the size of the cup? the length of the straw? how hard or soft you blow on the straw?
More resources to consider that were posted in a blog after I presented at the Oregon Science Teachers’ Association conference
